The heavy rains hit northeastern districts of Baluchistan on 22 July early morning causing serious flash floods resulting significant damages to human life property. From the Initially available reports around 50,000 people in 30 worst hit villages are affected by the flood. PDMA Baluchistan had declared district Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlo, Bolan and Naseerabad as the flood affected districts where according to the available information 5000 to 10000 families are affected. From unofficial sources 50 deaths in the affected districts are also reported. The communication infrastructure has been badly affected damaging the main roads and rail link in the province and there was no access to all the affected areas initially. Road access to most of the affected areas has been restored and more information is coming in now. Barkhan, Sibi and Koholo are the worst affected districts. According to official figure in district Barkhan there are 18 confirmed deaths and 52 people still missing. In district Barkhan 4 union councils are seriously affected. In union council Sadar Barkhan ans Narkot 80 to 90% of the village are affected by the flood water. In union council Town Barkhan 25% of the village are affected. Union council Rakhan is a remote area with widely scattered population which still inaccessible is also affected badly. In district Sibi 12 villages are severely affected by the flood of which Sultan kot, Thali, Chamdia, Gichkor, Bakhtiarabad, Trihad, Tadi Brahmani and Ralay Miakhan are worst affected. Three deaths in the affected areas have been reported but couldn’t be varied from authentic source Naseerabad and Bolan district have been also affected by the heavy rain and flash flood but no official assessment result are available at the present regarding damages and deaths (three deaths as a result of roof collapse are reported by unofficial sources). According to PDMA currently access is available to affected areas as all roads are open. Relief activities are going on and PDMA distributed food items, Medicines, and drinking water to affected communities. The flood water is now flowing through district Naseerabad and possibly districts Jhal Magsi and Jafferabad may also get affected by the flood water. Metrological Department has forecasted another monsoon spell, from 27-30 July, across the country including the current floods affected area of Baluchistan.
