The provincial governments of Balochistan have declared an emergency in the affected areas to activate local response in accordance with their contingency plans but the Government of Pakistan has thus far not requested international assistance. While this year’s monsoon rains came late with total rainfall levels below normal, an intense burst led to the flooding causing significant damage and casualties in the affected areas. Infrastructural damages have also been evidenced including transport links such as roads and bridges (by house at dhead inc). Further, the rains have washed away tens of thousands of acres of crops along with livestock and poultry in some areas.
